Faculty Position in Psychology
American University of Sharjah (video) in the United Arab Emirates invites applications for a full-time faculty position in psychology starting August 2020. As an American-accredited institution in the liberal arts tradition, we seek candidates with a passion for both teaching and research in any area of specialization to join our faculty. Ability to teach courses in research methods is a plus.
Successful candidates will have a PhD in psychology or a closely-related field, professional experience reflecting a commitment to teaching and strong communication skills. As a university formed on the American model with English as the language of instruction, we give priority to candidates who have experience in American models of higher education.
AUS is licensed and its programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates. AUS has been accredited in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA, Tel +1 215 662 5606) since June 2004.

Our program hosts dedicated lab spaces, specialized software and hardware, a research participation pool and support services such as Sona Systems. Psychology faculty regularly publish in peer-reviewed journals and have won both internal and external competitive grants for their research, integrating AUS undergraduates into their lab activities.
