IT Project Manager - Digital Transformation | ICT & IT Security Department
The Department of ICT & IT Security at the American University of Sharjah seeks to hire IT Project Manager - Digital Transformation to lead and drive the university’s digital transformation. As a Digital Transformation expert, you will play a key role in developing and implementing digital transformation projects and strategies to leverage emerging technologies, streamline processes, and enhance overall business performance. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital trends, a proven track record of successful transformations, and the ability to align digital initiatives with university goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with executive leadership to formulate and articulate a comprehensive digital transformation strategy aligned with university objectives.
- Identify and prioritize digital initiatives to enhance efficiency, community experience, and overall competitiveness.
- Evaluate Educational & Enterprise emerging Technologies and trends to assess their potential impact on the university's operations and competitive position.
- Foster collaboration among Technical and cross-functional teams in Administration and Academic departments to ensure a unified approach to digital transformation.
- Lead identification, selection, and adoption of digital tools and platforms to support university objectives.
- Develop comprehensive transformational project/program plans, outlining scope, goals, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, informing them of project/program progress, changes, and challenges.
- Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure the successful adoption of digital solutions across the university.
- Facilitate cultural shifts towards a more digital-centric mindset, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Analyze existing University business processes and workflows to identify areas for optimization and automation.
- Design and implement streamlined digital processes to improve operations efficiency and effectiveness.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into digital initiatives.
- Support and oversee the execution of digital initiatives and transformation projects, ensuring they are delivered on time.
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to drive successful implementation and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of ten years of relevant experience in leading digital transformation within complex organizations and minimum: Three years in higher education institutes..
- Strong understanding of digital technologies, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and IoT.
- Expertise in project and change management methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches (e.g., Project and Portfolio Management - PPM), Agile/Scrum).
- Excellent strategic thinking, process optimization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence and inspire change at all organizational levels
- Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Knowledge of industry best practices, emerging trends, and technologies in Digital Transformation
- UAE national preferred.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- A master’s degree in a related field (Computer Science/Engineering).
- Certifications in related fields (CDTP, etc.)
- Certifications in related fields ( PMP, Prince2, Agile, etc.)
- Experience with ERP systems (Banner or Fusion)
- Knowledge & experience in the following technologies: Banner, Fusion, Mobile Development, Integrations, Web Applications, and development.
- Knowledge & experience in the following technologies: Virtualization, Networking, Banner, Fusion, Mobile Development, Integrations, IOT, GenAI, Web Applications, and development.
The candidate should be available full-time on-site during AUS main working hours (Monday to Thursday, 8 AM to 6 PM) but is also expected to be ready to work at flexible times when needed.
We are looking for a candidate ready to hit the ground running with minimal training.
