Laboratory Instructor in Environmental Chemistry | College of Arts and Sciences

The Department of Biology, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences at the College of Arts and Sciences is seeking to hire a professional Laboratory Instructor in Environment Chemistry. The position involves teaching laboratory-based courses such as General Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry and Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment and Monitoring and Instrumental Analysis.      Job Responsibilities    

• Teach laboratory-based courses such as General Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry and Analysis, Environmental Impact Assessment and Monitoring, and Instrumental Analysis.
• Prepare and implement laboratory activities and assessments that promote effective hands-on learning.
• Maintain a safe learning environment by monitoring student practices, enforcing safety rules, and ensuring proper use of laboratory equipment and materials.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• A master’s degree in environmental chemistry or a closely related field.
• Experience in teaching laboratory-based courses in Environmental Chemistry and related fields.
• Experience in the use of major laboratory instruments as well as field sampling and monitoring.

• Strong instructional and communication skills for effective laboratory teaching.
• Commitment to student engagement and support in a liberal arts Environment.

• Proficiency in conducting and supervising chemistry and environmental Chemistry Laboratory Procedures and experiments.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
• Experience with analytical instruments used in chemistry and environmental analysis.
