The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) in the College of Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for visiting and regular faculty positions at the assistant, associate or full professor level commencing in Fall Semester 2021. The visiting faculty positions are primarily focused on teaching. Successful candidates for the regular positions will be expected to establish high-level, active research programs supported by internal and external funding sources. The visiting position is a one-year renewable contract and the regular position is a three-year renewable contract.

The applicant is required to have a PhD in Computer Engineering/Computer Science or a closely related field and show evidence of a significant teaching portfolio. Excellence in teaching and research, in addition to experience in the American model of higher education are highly desirable.

The required documents are a cover letter and a detailed curriculum vitae (including a teaching statement, a research statement, list of courses that can be taught or were taught, and names of at least three references who would be willing to write letters of recommendation). Positions are open until filled. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Visiting faculty will receive a one-year renewable contract and regular faculty will receive a three-year renewable contract.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is one the fastest growing departments at AUS. It has approximately 650 undergraduate students, 30 graduate students, 15 full-time faculty and 7 lab instructors. Students and faculty represent very diverse backgrounds and nationalities; more than 90 nationalities are present on campus. The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Master of Science in Computer Engineering.

AUS is located in the Emirate of Sharjah (about 15 km from Dubai). AUS is an independent, not-for-profit, coeducational university, serving approximately 5,000 students. Further information can be obtained from www.aus.edu/department-of-computer-science-and-engineering and www.auscse.com.

The Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering offered by the College of Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org/.
