April 15th 2020: The graduate student Abdullah Abou Hewelle won the popular vote award in the first 3-Minute Thesis competition organized by the college of engineering at AUS. Congrats Abdullah!
November 28th 2019: The research project entitled “MEMS Gas Sensor for Quality and Environmental Safety” has been selected for funding from Sharjah Research Academy. The awarded budget is 85,000 AED.
November 12th 2019: The proposal entitled “Energy Harvester to Power Miniature Sensors for Machine Health Monitoring” submitted to the AUS Undergraduate Research program has been recommended for award. The award amount is 5,000 AED.
October 14th 2019: Mr. Abdullah Abou Hewelle joined the research group as Master student.
April 28th 2019: Mr. Ehab Emad Basta successfully defended his Master Thesis.
March 26th 2019: The research proposal entitled “Modeling, Design, and Implementation of a Bio-inspired Propulsion Mechanism for Underwater Vehicles” has been recommended for award (FRG19). The awarded cash budget is 140,000 AED.
October 28th 2018: The proposal submitted to Sandooq al Watan to fund senior design project has been approved. The project is entitled “Prototype design and implementation of a smart PV solar panel system”. The approved funding amount is 10,000 AED. To read more, click here.

September 2nd 2018: Ms. Badrieh Hozhabr joined the research group as Master student.
April 30th 2018: The project entitled “bio-inspired flapping micro air vehicle” presented by my undergraduate students won the second place at the 6th edition of the Undergraduate Research Competition held at Abu Dhabi University. The annual competition is the largest gathering of undergraduate student researchers in UAE and promotes scientific research among undergraduate students. To read more, click here.

April 18th 2018: Mr. Mostafa Ahmed successfully defended his Master Thesis.
February 7th 2018: The project entitled “bio-inspired flapping micro air vehicle” presented by my undergraduate students won the second place in the IEEE ASET conference- poster competition organized by Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) on February 7, 2018 in Dubai. 44 groups from 8 different UAE universities participated in this competition.
January 21st 2018: Mr. Ehab Basta joined the research group.
