Dr. Mohamed El-Tarhuni
Professor and Vice Provost Graduate Studies

Mohamed El-Tarhuni is currently a Professor of Electrical Engineering and Vice Provost for Graduate Studies at the American University of Sharjah (AUS). He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in 1997 from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canadal; and the BS and MS degrees from Garyounis University, Benghazi, Libya in 1986 and 1990, respectively. From 1997 to 2000 he was with Nortel Networks, Canada as a member of technical staff. He joined AUS in 2000 as an assistant professor and has served as the head of electrical engineering department from 2006 to 2014 and as the associate dean for the college of engineering from 2014 to 2017. He has been serving as the Vice Provost for Graduate Studies since 2017.
