Position Summary
The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to funded research focused on advanced optimization and mathematical modeling, specifically addressing the Vehicle Routing Problem with Multiple Synchronization Constraints. Responsibilities include designing models and algorithms, publishing research results, enhancing the team’s research capabilities, and mentoring graduate students.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct research on optimization models and algorithmic strategies for the Vehicle Routing Problem with Multiple Synchronization Constraints.
- Develop and implement sophisticated solution methods, and disseminate results through publications in leading journals and conferences.
- Collaborate closely with the research team, provide mentorship to graduate students, and support the achievement of the project’s objectives.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated strong research abilities, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking, with a proven capacity to develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team to contribute to high-impact publications.
- Expertise in operations research, mathematical optimization, and algorithm development, with experience tackling large-scale problems.
- Proficient programming and analytical skills in languages such as Python, C++, or Julia, and familiarity with optimization solvers like Gurobi or CPLEX.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a research team.
