The Data Analyst will support the Office of Financial Grants and Scholarships (OFGS) in analyzing and managing financial aid data, improving reporting and dashboarding, and enabling timely, data-driven decision-making related to scholarship and grant allocation and budget monitoring.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyze scholarship and financial grant data, including applications, awards, and utilization
- Support budget monitoring, forecasting, and allocation exercises
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track key metrics and support decision-making
- Clean, validate, and structure data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Provide timely analysis during peak cycles (e.g., admissions and allocation periods)
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Proactively suggest enhancements to data structure, reporting, and visualization
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in related field: Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or any related field
- Minimum of 1-3 of experience in Data analysis, reporting, or a related field; relevant internships or project-based experience may be considered.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and present data insights clearly
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage and structure data from multiple sources
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Initiative in identifying improvements in data, reporting, and processes
- Maintains confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and student data
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Certification or coursework in data analytics, business intelligence, or related areas (e.g., SQL, Python for data analysis), with experience working with financial, budgeting, or higher education datasets.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is preferred, and familiarity with data querying (e.g., SQL) is an advantage.
