Research areas

Dr. Gupta's research centers on the study of people, work and organizations, with a particular focus on strategic human resource management, careers, organizational behavior, leadership, diversity management, race and inclusion, migration, and entrepreneurship. She draws on interdisciplinary perspectives from sociology, gender studies, and, at times, literary analysis to bring nuanced insight into how individuals navigate organizational and institutional structures. Renu Gupta has extensive teaching experience across postgraduate and undergraduate programs in areas including Organizational Behavior; Leadership Development; Diversity Management; Work & Employment; Human Resource Management and International HRM. Before AUS, she has taught at various Universities in Dubai, UAE and London, United Kingdom. She also brings corporate professional experience of nearly a decade. Her research investigates how individuals navigate careers within complex organizational and institutional structures, while addressing issues in gender, entrepreneurship, migration, legitimacy, and leadership. Her research has been published in high-ranked journals like Sociology and Gender, Work and Organization.
