To help ensure that newly admitted applicants complete the admissions process for the upcoming semester, the AUS Testing Center offers the MBDA Admissions Test online. You can take this exam from your own computer at home using the iLearn system, and the exam will be proctored by Respondus LockDown Browser. This special browser provides electronic test proctoring by recording your webcam and microphone during the entire duration of the test.

Instructions for the Online MBDA Admission Test

Before you can take the test, you will need to download and install Respondus LockDown Browser. The test cannot be taken using a common web browser.

Test Entry Requirements
  • To access the computer-based test, you will need your AUS username and password as stated in the account credentials email sent to you by AUS. You will not be able to take the test if this is not available. If your password has expired, please go to https://passwords.aus.edu, enter your username, and follow the prompts to enroll and change your AUS password. Please make sure that you log in the day before the test date to check your access to iLearn.Before you can start the test, you will be required to present your original, valid and signed passport or your UAE national ID.
  • You will be asked to take a photo of your ID using your webcam before you start the test.
  • When prompted to do so, hold your identification close to your computer’s camera and make sure it is in focus. This is very important to establish your identity.
  • If your ID cannot be established, you might be asked to repeat the test.
Test Rules/Equipment
  • You must use a desktop or laptop computer, not a tablet or mobile device.
  • All test takers are required to complete an environment check step prior to starting the exam. As part of this, you will need to record both your desk and the room in which you're taking the test. 
  • Record everything on your desk and make sure that the recording shows the four corners of your desk.
  • Make sure the area around your computer is clear of papers, books, phones, calculators, etc.
  • You are allowed to solve problems on loose paper sheets but not on a notebook. You will have to hold the papers you plan to use in front of the camera as part of your environment check step.
  • During this exam, test takers should not access other resources (such as a phone, ear plugs, head sets, tablet, notes, books, etc.)
  • Physical calculators are not allowed (only the built-in standard calculator on your computer is allowed). 
  • If you get disconnected or exit before submitting the test, the timer will continue running and the time you spend away from the test will be counted.
  • Backtracking is not allowed in the test. Once you continue to the next question, you will not be able to return to the previous questions.

Test Format
  • The MBDA Admission test has TWO SECTIONS.

    • Section 1 has 25 multiple choice questions. You have 60 minutes to complete Section 1.

    • Section 2 has two essay questions. Each question will provide you with a choice between two prompts. Choose one of the prompts in each question and answer it. You have 60 minutes to complete Section 2.

  • The two sections should be taken in 120 minutes.
  • Section 2 will appear once you complete Section 1.
  • You will need to close the browser after completing each section. Close the browser and start it again to take the next section.

AED 300 (payable at the time of booking)

Test Booking

To book for the MBDA Admission Test, please go to https://banner.aus.edu  and log in to Web Enabled Interface for Students using your AUS email username and password. Once logged in, go to Current Applicants, then go to Testing Center Registration and view the test schedule, and submit the booking request with payment of AED 300 for approval.

Rescheduling Policy

Candidates must send an email to https://infodesk.aus.edu one week prior to the test date in order to reschedule or cancel the exam. The test fee is non-refundable in case of a no-show. 

MBDA Test Results

All AUS applicants can check their tests results by accessing Banner and logging in to Web Enabled Interface for Students using the AUS email username and password.

Required Identification

On the day of the test, students must present their original, valid and signed passport or UAE National ID for identification purposes only. No other form of identification document is accepted.

If either of the above is not available on the day of test, contact the AUS Testing Center immediately.
