AUS Conferencing Services
Want to meet with colleagues within the country or worldwide without the delay, cost and stress of travel? The AUS Information Technology Department offers multiple options for meeting with groups online or on the telephone.

Enhanced Conference Rooms and Classrooms - Rooms which have been set up with the specific technology required for either telephone conferencing or high-definition videoconferencing.
- Portable Conferencing / Desktop Conferencing - Mobile units are also available for temporary ad hoc use for video and/or voice conferencing at the desktop or within a small room.
- Multiple Technologies - Whether using only telephone conferencing capabilities or recording a dissertation defense or guest lecture video, we can assist you in establishing the service you need.
Video Conferencing Services
With high-definition videoconferencing services from AUS-IT, colleagues can connect to each other at up to 1080p resolution (as long as all connections support that level of resolution/bandwidth) while saving time and resources. The videoconference service at AUS is geared towards research and project collaboration, general meetings, one-on-one discussions, interviews, remote presentations, and other classroom objectives.
Who can use the service?
- All AUS faculty and staff can utilize the video conferencing services provided by AUS-IT.
What options are there for making video calls?
AUS has multiple locations available for videoconferencing:
- 8 dedicated room-based videoconference systems to provide conferencing for groups sized from five to one hundred, locations can be found here
- 2 portable videoconferencing units which consist of the videoconference codec, camera and display
- Cisco Movi Desktop videoconferencing software and HD cameras (license / equipment cost)
What enhanced features are available?
- Recording of videoconferences for archival
- Multi-point connections (up to 12 concurrent HD connections)
Voice Conferencing Services
Through the AUS Avaya PABX, any AUS staff or faculty phone on the academic campus can support up to six concurrent connections for conferencing, however, sometimes there may be a need options for larger groups on the same call, whether that be a larger group physically in a room at AUS or multiple locations beyond the four that can be provided locally and we have options available for that as well.
Who can use the service?
All AUS faculty and staff can utilize basic conference calling services from desk phones or conference rooms. They (or their department) will be responsible for any fees for the call, as it will appear as part of the monthly extension bill as multiple calls.
What options are there for making telephone conference calls?
- All AUS staff/faculty desk phones are capable of creating conference calls of up to six concurrent connections (the AUS phone + five others).
- For conferences requiring more than six participants OR if you would like to record the session, please contact the [email protected] to schedule a hosted teleconference of up to 120 participants.
