Dr. Abdulrahim Sajini

Dr. Abdulrahim is a world trained Stem Cell and RNA biologist currently leading his research group at AUS. He received his PhD from the University of Cambridge's Stem Cell Institute in 2016. Among his key responsibilities are operating his research lab, attracting funding, teaching, mentoring post-docs and students, establishing and maintaining international collaboration and finally innovating biomedical solutions for UAE morbidities. His research mainly focuses on understanding how RNA post-transcriptional modifications modulate stem cells and diseases such Obesity. His research has been very successful at securing millions of AED in funding. His team has created the UAE’s 1st Emirati hiPSC line, which he named UAE001, to model obesity.
