Basmah Al-Khawaja

Basmah is a senior Mechanical Engineering undergraduate student at The American University of Sharjah (AUS). She is interested in studying digital microfluidics, a technology for manipulating micro droplets on open surfaces. Basmah’s senior design project is titled “Development of a Multilayer paper-based Digital Microfluidic Devices” which focuses on developing versatile, low cost digital microfluidic devices. After graduation, Basmah hopes to pursue her Master degree studying microfluidics and its biomedical applications. In her free time, Basmah enjoys swimming and cycling. She is a member of the AUS swimming training team.

Malik Al-Lababidi

Malik graduated from the Mechanical Engineering department at The American University of Sharjah (AUS) in 2019. He received a graduate teaching assistantship from AUS to pursue his master degree in mechanical engineering starting Spring 2020. Malik is interested in studying the fundamentals of electrical manipulation of  liquid droplets on digital microfluidics devices. In his free time, Malik enjoys reading, watching documentaries, and most importantly, hanging out with friends.

Ibragim Abu Dagga

Ibragim Abu Dagga graduated from the Mechanical Engineering department at Univeristy of Sharjah in January, 2018. After graduation he received a scholarship to pursue his Master in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Sharjah.

Ibragim's research interests involve Microfluidics mixing and transport phenomena. His research project is titled ''Numerical modeling of sequential segmentation for enhancement of mixing inside microcannels.
