Research areas

Dr. Hamdan's research interests are in experimental solid state physics and material science: nano-materials, perovskite solar cells, magnetic materials and semiconductors, high temperature superconductivity and x-ray spectroscopy. Dr. Hamdan is also performing research in the field of air pollution, particularly on aerosol pollution and source apportionment, in addition to studying material of cultural heritage using advanced spectroscopic techniques.

Dr. Nasser Hamdan

Professor

Dr. Hamdan taught physics for more than 30 years, at KFUPM, and AUS. He has also worked at LBNL, UC-Berkeley; the National High Magnetic Lab., Florida State and at Western Michigan Universities. His research interests are in experimental solid-state physics and material science: nano-materials, provskite PV, magnetic materials, high Tc superconductivity and x-ray spectroscopy. Dr. Hamdan is also interested in ds applied research, particularly the use of spectroscopic methods in environmental studies and materials of cultural heritage. He is leading the UAE research on particulate matter pollution in collaboration with the IAEA. More recently, Dr. Hamdan is focusing on photovoltaic research. Particularly on perovskite based solar cells.
