Dr. Abulbasal’s research is grounded in sociology, with a central focus on how systems of gender and racial inequality are produced, reproduced, and contested across both digital and organizational domains. One line of her work examines how women—particularly women of color—navigate exclusion, power, and representation in professional and institutional settings. A second line explores how digital infrastructures shape visibility, access, and inequality, especially in contexts of marginalization and resistance.
