118 Sharjah government employees complete English course at AUS
The Achievement Academy Outreach Program at American University of Sharjah (AUS), in collaboration with the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources, held a ceremony to award the directorate's trainees and professionals involved in the Academic and Business English course program. The ceremony was held today, June 3, 2015.
The program is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between AUS and the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources on January 16, 2011 that offers a framework of collaboration between AUS and other organizations.
The aim of the program is to present the participants with an opportunity to enhance their use of the English language and build up their skills and confidence.
The ceremony awarded a total of 55 participants from the job seeking group as well as a total of 63 professional employees for their hard work and commitment throughout the program.
The ceremony was attended by Ali Shuhaimy, Executive Director of Enrollment Management at AUS; Lina Hejjawi, Achievement Academy Outreach Manager at AUS; Dr. Tariq Bin Khadem, Director of the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources; program participants as well as members of the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Lina Hejjawi said that lifelong learning increases one's value to their employer and adds to their personal self-esteem. She acknowledged the students' hard work and tenacity and congratulated the employees on their achievement. She also expressed her appreciation for AUS' emerging community partnership with the Sharjah Directorate of Human Resources.
