AABP holds English teaching training for Sharakah Schools
Teachers from 14 Sharakah Schools participated in a series of online English teaching workshops organized by the Professional Development Committee at the Achievement Academy Bridge Program (AABP) on November 14.
The Sharakah Program is a partnership initiated by the university’s Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) between AUS and select high schools. It aims to support the university’s strategic initiative to create a platform for cooperation in various academic and non-academic areas. These include the engagement of teachers and students through training sessions, workshops, as well as cultural, social and sports activities.
Senior instructors Raja Bahloul, Paul Hudson and Krystie Wills delivered training sessions on using online gaming as a motivational tool, building teamwork and acquiring vocabulary, how to engage students and help them succeed in reading activities, and examples of web-based apps that can supplement more traditional means of course delivery.
The training received positive responses from the participants, and there were numerous requests for future events.
