Active students awarded scholarships at AUS
American University of Sharjah (AUS) honored seven outstanding students by presenting them with the Active Student Scholarship awards at a special ceremony held yesterday, February 27, 2013. Dr. Thomas Hochstettler, the AUS Provost, and Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, congratulated the students on their achievements.
The recipients were Mohamad El-Moud, Leen Barqawi and Jabir Iqbal of Student Clubs and Organizations; Community Services volunteers Amr Abd El Aal and Anas Masamreh; and Christian Momah and Hashem Alharharah from the Student Leadership Program.
Dr. Al Shehhi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs said, "This semester, we have witnessed an increase in the number of scholarship nominees. The Active Student Scholarship Program has become successful in motivating our students to become high achievers and contribute to an active student life at AUS. We support our students by offering them due recognition through this scholarship and through many of OSA's recognition programs that acknowledge student work and accomplishments,".
The scholarship program supports students who have limited financial resources and who live an active life on campus.
