American University of Iraq official visits AUS

Dr. Björn Kjerfve, Chancellor of American University of Sharjah (AUS), met with Dr. Bakhteyar Shamsadeen, Member of the Board, American University of Iraq.

Dr. Kjerfve discussed a number of issues with the visiting delegate and briefed him about AUS, its programs and development since its inception. He also discussed the vision His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of AUS, has for the university and the institution's future plans and growth.

Dr. Kjerfve briefed Dr. Shamsadeen about the university's aim to become one of the region's premier centers of research and innovation within the next few years. He also discussed related plans towards that aim which included the setting up of the Research Technology and Innovation (RTI) Park and associated free zone authority.

The meeting was also attended by Dr. Cleve McDaniel, Chief Operating Officer, AUS.
