American University of Sharjah and Emirates National Schools Sign MoA to Enhance Educational Opportunities for Students
American University of Sharjah (AUS) and Emirates National Schools (ENS) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) as part of the AUS Sharakah Program.
The agreement highlights several areas of cooperation between the two institutions, including partnering in the of outstanding students from varied socio-cultural and economic backgrounds to AUS; providing Sharakah School Scholarships to students nominated by the schools; and offering students the opportunity to participate in AUS’ on-campus and online competitions, cultural and extracurricular activities.
The MoA, signed by The Executive Director of Enrollment Management, Mr. Ali Shuhaimy and ENS Deputy Director General Mr. Ahmad Al Bastaki in the presence of AUS Chancellor Dr. Susan Mumm, Provost Dr. Juan Sanchez , and ENS Director General Dr. Shawn Dilly at the AUS campus, aims to strengthen the relationship between AUS and ENS by providing more opportunities for their students.
"I’m delighted to welcome the leadership of ENS here today. Our Sharakah Schools program has been growing rapidly and is very important to us, not only as a way of introducing students to AUS but because we see it as part of our service to the wider community. It allows us to provide students with valuable experiences and opportunities, and we benefit from the contact with bright young minds regardless of where they end up studying,” said Dr. Mumm. “I was pleased to see that ENS shares the same values and mission as AUS of placing an emphasis on both innovative education and the treasuring of the cultural heritage of the UAE. It’s great for us to formalize our relationship today, and we look forward to what this partnership will bring.”
Dr. Dilly expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that "Emirates National Schools is happy to collaborate with AUS. We know that collaboration is critical to our success and future. We are confident that this partnership will provide valuable opportunities for our students and will provide a pathway for them to pursue their academic and career goals, and be leaders in their fields ready to tackle any challenges ahead. We look forward to working together to build a brighter future for our students."
Under the AUS Sharakah Program, the institutions will work collaboratively to provide academic support, resources and guidance to students of ENS to help them succeed in their academic pursuits.
The Sharakah Scholarship is a notable aspect of the MoA, providing financial assistance to students nominated by ENS to study at AUS, furthering the goal of making quality education accessible to all.
The MoA is a testament to the shared vision of AUS and ENS to provide a platform for the next generation of leaders to excel academically and serve their communities.
