AUS and Kuwaiti higher education officials discuss cooperation

Dr. Thomas Hochstettler, the Acting Chancellor of American University of Sharjah (AUS), met with a delegation of Kuwait higher education officials, at AUS today, and discussed means to strengthen mutual cooperation in various fields of higher education.

TThe Kuwaiti delegation comprised of Dr. Habib Taher Abul, Secretary General, Private Universities Council, Kuwait; Mohammed Al Mahmeed, Director of External Relations, Private Universities Council, Kuwait; and Dr. Saleh Yaseen Ali, Head of the Cultural Kuwait Office in Dubai. The meeting was also attended by AUS officials including Dr. Malcolm Richards, Acting Provost; Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs and deans of the four colleges/school.

The Acting Chancellor and AUS officials explained to the visiting Kuwaiti delegation the historical development of AUS and the quality education delivered and means to preserve the world class standards, as well as the accreditation and ranking AUS received.

The Kuwaiti delegation then briefed the AUS officials on the development of private universities in Kuwait and means to further upgrade the accreditation and ranking of the sector.
