The American University of Sharjah (AUS) College of Engineering (CEN) held its Honors Convocation recently on campus, celebrating the hard work and dedication of 432 undergraduate students who had been named to the Dean's List.
The CEN Honors Convocation recognized the achievements of AUS students who attained a GPA of 3.5 in the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters.
"The success of our students reflects the high-quality education and supportive environment we provide at AUS. We take pride in fostering a community where students can thrive academically, develop leadership skills and prepare to make meaningful contributions in their fields. Our students' achievements symbolize their hard work and our commitment to excellence in engineering education," said Dr. Fadi Aloul, Dean of CEN.
The guest speaker for the event was Hind Alharmoodi, a civil engineering alumna who was awarded the President’s Cup for having the highest grade point average in the academic year 2022-2023. Alharmoodi called on the students to take advantage of the many opportunities AUS offers them. Beyond the technical knowledge, AUS has taught me crucial life skills like time management, working under pressure and pushing beyond my comfort zone. As I prepare to enter the professional world and pursue a master's degree, I am confident that AUS has equipped me with the essential skills for my future success," Elfakharany said.
