AUS holds second Charity Bazaar
AUS held a successful Charity Bazaar on November 25 to raise funds for various charitable causes supported by its Community Services Division. The event witnessed the participation of charitable governmental and non-governmental organizations that sold products ranging from traditional Emirati souvenirs and handmade necklaces and jewelry, to clothes and plants. Proceeds went to fund their charitable causes.
“We appreciate the contribution of the local humanitarian and charitable organizations selling a variety of items as clothing, home goods, toys and books to raise funds for charity," said Munketh Taha, Director of Student Development and Organizations. “The event bridged together various local humanitarian and charitable organizations with members of the AUS community. It was also a valuable opportunity for our AUS student volunteers. I would also would like to acknowledge University City, Sharjah for supporting this worthy cause.”
Participating organizations included: Al Thiqah Club for Handicapped; Sharjah Police Headquarters; Punishment and Correctional Institutions Department; University City, Sharjah; Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services; Sharjah Empowerment Foundation (Tamkeen); AUS Community Services Division; and the AUS Student Council.
