AUS IISE student chapter wins Gold Award
The student chapter of the Institute for Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) was honored with the institute’s Gold Award for the second consecutive year. The award is the highest honor in the professional organization’s International University Chapter Recognition Program. The AUS chapter was honored based on its overall achievements during the 2017-18 academic year.
The AUS student chapter board members for the 2017-2018 academic year are:

The Department of Industrial Engineering was established at American University of Sharjah in 2012 with the mission to promote and maintain excellence in teaching and research through its application-oriented and industry-driven academic programs. Its programs are delivered by highly qualified, experienced and motivated faculty members who are strongly committed to providing excellent instruction and effective mentoring to students.
In addition to a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering degree, the department also offers a multidisciplinary Master of Science in Engineering Systems Management degree to cater to the interests of students from a wide variety of engineering majors seeking to continue their education. This program has become the premier choice for engineers in the region whose goal is to work in areas that integrate technical engineering skills with managerial and economic skills. It also aims at advancing research and development efforts in the region.
Founded in 1948, IISE is an international, nonprofit association that provides leadership for the application, education, training, research, and development of industrial engineering. It is the world’s largest professional society dedicated solely to the support of the industrial and systems engineering profession and individuals involved with improving quality and productivity.
