AUS industrial engineering students win regional award
Two students from the Department of Industrial Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) won first place at the American Society of Quality (ASQ) annual student competition, held during the ASQ-Middle East and Africa conference, October 18-19, 2016. The team competed with nine other quality-related projects from five different countries and went through several stages of screening before they were announced as the winners.
The students, Areej Mahmoud and Mai Ashraf, won based on their senior design project entitled "Quality Improvement of Tas'heel Service Center Using Six Sigma Methodology," which was supervised by Dr. Mahmoud Awad, Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering.
