AUS School of Business and Management launches Working Paper Series
The School of Business and Management (SBM) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) recently announced the launch of its Working Paper Series. This is the first web-based working paper series launched at the university.
Working papers are completed manuscripts that are usually posted for viewing and citation by other scholars before a paper is accepted for publication in a scholarly journal.
Posting working papers on the web is the quickest way of presenting research findings, receiving feedback and getting citations from the community of scholars and scientists around the globe. Besides bringing their authors global exposure, working papers present the host institution to the rest of the world and increase its visibility. Web-posted working papers also work as an informal copyright registry, as the posting date can help establish the chronological production of research papers. The system works as deterrence for plagiarism.
The first working paper in the series is authored by Nobel Laureate Dr. Thomas Sargent, who delivered a lecture at AUS last month. Dr. Sargent's paper is a provocative revisionist interpretation of US government finance during three wars in US history.
