AUS student society wins international award
The American University of Sharjah (AUS) IEEE Student Solid State Circuits Society recently won the 2016 Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Best Student Chapter in Region 8 Award. The student society received an engraved certificate of appreciation from the IEEE as recognition.v
According to Dr. Lutfi Albasha, Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Student Chapter Advisor, "This is a great achievement for our student chapter. Our students have shown how well they can compete in a professional and highly competitive international society that includes universities from Europe, the Middle East, Africa and most Asian countries. They have worked very hard for this well-deserved success."
The AUS students worked on organizing the IoT and 5G symposia, ran several IEEE recruitment days and organized many training sessions, electronic competitions and field trips.
