AUS students attend World Government Summit
Eleven students from the Student Leadership Program (SLP) attended the World Government Summit (WGS) held February last month in Dubai. The World Government Summit is a knowledge exchange forum at the intersection of government, technology and innovation. It also functions as a thought leadership platform and networking hub for policymakers, business and civil society in human development.
Abdulla Albanna, a senior majoring in electrical engineering, said:
“The World Government Summit 2018 was an exceptional experience. What motivated me to register and attend WGS were the interesting topics in the summit's agenda, which included artificial intelligence, future governments and smart education, all which highlight the UAE's 2020 vision and the UN's 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. We attended sessions held by inspiring speakers like His Highness Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zayed, Paul Bennett and Graca Machel.”
Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students, said:
“We continue to encourage students to take advantage of opportunities around them such as WGS. By attending WGS, students were able to network and better understand future plans, concerns and opportunities ahead of them. I encourage more students to take part in such opportunities offered by SLP.”
