AUS students create art through exhibition at Sharjah Art Foundation
The Student Multicultural Learning Program in collaboration with the AUS Saudi Cultural Club recently organized a trip to the exhibition Do It at the Sharjah Art Foundation. Through this interactive exhibition, the students created their own artwork based on instructions from over 60 artists from the region.
The students started with a tour around the exhibition, giving them a chance to utilize the artists' instructions, from drawing maps with chalk to painting on wood. They then participated in a workshop in which they built their own wooden structures and experimented with designs and colors, helping them unlock their creative abilities.
Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students said, "Students' engagement in such artistic opportunities develops a chance for them to be able to relate their artwork to their culture and explore different methods of enhancing creativity."
Abdullah AlFarraj, President of the AUS Saudi Cultural Club and a sophomore in industrial engineering, said, "The trip was different because you're having fun and learning at the same time. We applied some simple steps in order to complete unfinished art works by different artists. The participants were very engaged in the activities and curious to know about each work of art."
