AUS students enjoy one-day cultural trip to Kuwait

Thirteen students from American University of Sharjah (AUS) enjoyed a one-day cultural trip to Kuwait on December 2, 2013. During the ten-hour tour, students visited famous landmarks and cultural sites. The students also visited famous shopping malls and experienced the food culture that Kuwait is well-known for.

"I am happy to say that the event 'Kuwait in 10 Hours' was a great success. Through the few hours with our fellow students in this trip, we were able to show them the beauty of our country and share with them our rich cultural heritage. We have all enjoyed the brief but very memorable day in Kuwait," said Shahad Al Sharhan, President of Kuwaiti Cultural Club.

"The one-day cultural trip to Kuwait is a unique opportunity for our students to explore and learn about places and cultures that are unique to our neighboring countries. Brief cultural trips are an excellent way of spending quality time and having relief from the daily stresses of student life," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

The students flew out from Sharjah early in the morning and returned at night on the same day. The AUS delegation to Kuwait was accompanied by Office of Student Affairs supervisors Aisha Ali and Salima Dabowi. The event is organized by the Kuwaiti Cultural Club and the Office of Student Affairs' Student Multicultural Learning Program.
