AUS students participate in World Business Dialogue in Cologne
Hussam Badi Uz Zaman and Ahmed El Aradi from the Student Leadership Program at American University of Sharjah (AUS) participated in the World Business Dialogue, an economic convention organized by the students of the University of Cologne, Germany March 11-13, 2015. The dialogue includes talks, panels, workshops and discussions delivered by renowned contributors. Around 250 participants comprising elite students and top-ranking politicians, scientists and economists took part this year. The dialogue's theme was "Power to the People: Redefining Independencies in a Trembling World." Topics of discussion included the power of customers, supervising bodies for the Internet, influence of major IT companies on business and society, and the current manipulation of the digital world.
"Attending the World Business Dialogue was a unique experience," said Ahmed El Aradi, a senior majoring in electrical engineering. "The dialogue provided an exceptional opportunity to discuss different topics that matter in today's world, which helped me gain great insight and new perspectives. Attending the workshops and the panels provided a chance to hear professionals debate the topics of the dialogue. I had the pleasure of one-on-one discussions with some of the keynote speakers, who were current and former European ministers along with executive officers of renowned companies. Furthermore, I was able to speak to representatives of the sponsoring companies, who were offering placement opportunities for highly motivated and skilled participants."
"Our students come back every year with excellent reviews about the dialogue," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students. "The experience and knowledge gained from attending panel discussions and workshops is immeasurable and students get the opportunity to explore new topics, meet different industry experts and network with people from various cultures."
This is the third time students from the AUS Student Leadership Program have participated in the World Business Dialogue.
