Business students visit Dubai Refreshment Company
Managerial and cost accounting students at American University of Sharjah (AUS) connected theory and practice during their visit to the Dubai Refreshment Company (DRC) at Dubai Investment Park on April 16.
The students were welcomed by the company CFO Nassif Bazouzi, who introduced them to the company, its relationship with Pepsi USA, and explained the way the company applies cost accounting.
Dr. Abed Al-Nasser Abdallah, Associate Professor of Accounting, accompanied the students and said:
“The trip aimed to introduce students to a real-world example and allowed them to connect cost accounting theories to practice, understand the work environment, and how accounting concepts are applied in practice. These types of field trips are important for our students because they enrich students' practical and critical thinking and their interaction with others in the workplace.”
The seminar was followed by a Q&A session, lunch, and a tour inside the factory, where they were able to experience the manufacturing process.
