Faculty piano recital at lunch
Assistant Professor Leopoldo Erice of the Performing Arts Program at American University of Sharjah entertained an audience of students, faculty and staff with a piano recital yesterday, October 31 on campus. His scintillating performance included works written by Spanish and Romantic composers including Enrique Granados, Fryderyk Chopin and Robert Schumann.
A native of Spain, Dr. Erice studied music in his home country, Holland and the US. He was a fellow of the prestigious la Caixa Foundation Fellowship Program. He has won prestigious national and international prizes, among which the Ciudad de Albacete and the Acisclo Fernández stand out. His numerous performances and broadcasts around the world have always been enthusiastically welcomed by the audiences. He is the founder and director of the Festival Internacional de Música Clásica de Ribadeo in Spain.
