Faculty senate orientation welcomes new faculty and senate members

The American University of Sharjah (AUS) Faculty Senate held an orientation session for new faculty and senate members joining the university for Academic Year 2015-2016. The event took place on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, in the presence of the Chancellor, Dr. Bjorn Kjerfve, and Interim Provost, Kevin Mitchell.

Chancellor Kjerfve praised the efforts of the Provost's office and commended the Faculty Senate for its efforts in the past and expressed hope for the new Faculty Senate body to work towards a more successful future for AUS in academic research.

According to Dr. Rana Raddawi, Faculty Senate President, "The session gave new and returning senators and new faculty members an idea about the mission statement, mandates and structure of the senate, as well as rules and regulations related to the senate committee."
