First British Council global IELTS Train the Trainer workshop held at AUS
The British Council UAE organized a global IELTS Train the Trainer workshop at American University of Sharjah on November 20. The three-day workshop was held for instructors at the AUS Achievement Academy Bridge Program. This is the first time that the British Council has run a global IELTS Train the Trainer workshop outside the UK.
The workshop included trainees from various international organizations, as well as 13 instructors from the Achievement Academy, who all became certified IELTS trainers. The workshop added to the instructors' credentials to teach IELTS in the classroom, and now enables them to train other teachers. Louisa Dunne and Sarah Philpot, specialists in IELTS and British Council professional trainers, administered the workshop.
Ali Shuhaimy, Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management, said "This is the first time the British Council has liaised with AUS on IELTS training and I hope it will be the beginning of a long-term collaboration and the first of many training sessions with the British Council. IELTS has become a popular test choice for many of our AUS students."
