Football Fields opened at AUS
Two AUS football fields, laid with a new artificial turf, were opened to the AUS community in a ceremony held on Saturday, October 22. The event included a cake-cutting ceremony as well as exhibition games played by the Wellness Program's football teams aged 5−18.
AUS Chancellor Dr. Peter Heath and Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration Cleve McDaniel were in attendance, as well as Sharjah Football Club players Vandinho and Marcelo.
The FIFA-approved turf is far more durable than a traditional grassy pitch, requiring very little maintenance. It can also be used all year round.
The event was held by the Wellness Program, in association with the Sharjah Football Club.
