Leading Chinese insurance company executives visit AUS

Led by its Chairman, Dr. Chen Dongsheng, a delegation from Taikang Life Insurance Company visited American University of Sharjah (AUS) today April 15, and met with AUS Chancellor Dr. Björn Kjerfve. Taikang is the fourth largest insurance company in China with 1,200 employees. The delegation’s visit to the university was hosted by the School of Business Administration (SBA).

Welcoming the delegation along with the AUS chancellor were Kevin Mitchell, Interim Provost; Dr. Wei Zhao, Chief Research Officer; Dr. Jeannette Vinke, Chief Operating Officer; and Dr. Jorg Bley, Dean of the School of Business Administration.

The delegation included Liu Jinglun, CEO; Qiu Liping, President, Zhejiang Branch; Zhang Yang, President, Tianjian Branch; Ma Cong, President, E-Commerce; Zhang Kun; President, Beijing Branch and other executives.

Dr. Björn Kjerfve briefed the visitors about the university’s history and the academic programs it offers as well as discussing executive and professional training opportunities available at AUS for the company’s managers. Dr. Kjerfve said:

“I’m very happy that you chose to come to AUS and I’m hoping this visit will be the first step for finding areas of mutual collaboration between our two institutions."

The meeting was attended by senior AUS and Taikang Life officials.
