Partial scholarships awarded to active students

American University of Sharjah (AUS) honored nine outstanding students by presenting them with partial scholarships. The Active Student Partial Scholarship program recognizes undergraduate students who display excellence in extracurricular activities including community service projects, clubs and the Student Leadership Program. The scholarship consists of up to 50 percent tuition remission for one semester.

The recipients of the Active Student Partial Scholarship awards were: Mustafa Ezzeddine, Hamdan Shahid, Lujain Qutieshat and Haleema Khawas of Student Clubs and Organizations; Community Services volunteers Shruthi Srinivasan, Rahsi Shafana and Mehr Patni; and Merna El Medany and Nada Mourad from the Student Leadership Program.

Addressing the students, Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students said, "We thank you all for your contributions to student life at AUS and to becoming role models that encourage more students to avail of the extracurricular opportunities offered by the university. It is a fact that students who complement their academic learning with out-of-class learning activities become more successful in their professional lives. Through this partial scholarship, we hope to inspire more students to become high achievers and excel in the extracurricular field. Congratulations to all winners."
