Sharjah Ruler meets International Refugee Law Course delegates
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of American University of Sharjah (AUS), met with delegates of the 74th International Refugee Law Course at AUS today, November 24.
The Sharjah Ruler welcomed the delegation and exchanged views on the refugee conditions in various parts of the world. He wished them success in their endeavors.
Amin Awad, Director of MENA Bureau and Regional Refugee Coordinator, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), explained the efforts of the agency in serving refugees around the world. The five-day course will feature numerous sessions that will focus on a wide range of issues including Asylum and Legal Environment in the Arab World; Protecting Refugees in a Situation of Mass Influx; and Tripartite Negotiations, among others.
The course has been organized by UNHCR and the International Institute of Humanitarian Law and is being held at AUS.
