SLP students build leadership skills at Al Maktoum College program
Six AUS students attended the Al Maktoum College Academic Training Program at Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Dundee, Scotland, February 9-March 7, 2016. The program, for female Emirati students, aims to challenge and expand all student participants' intellectual skills to provide them with the knowledge and skills required for active leadership for the 21st century.
"My experience at Al-Maktoum College was phenomenal. As a student who has an education in the science field, this program has expanded my knowledge in religions, multiculturalism and leadership. Moreover, this experience was an opportunity for us to learn about the different cultures from students of different nationalities. From learning about women's leadership and entrepreneurship to how globalization shapes our world, the lessons we have gained are endless, and I absolutely recommend this program for everyone who wants to grow more," said Amna Banialnajjar, a chemical engineering graduate.
"We are delighted that our students had a fruitful experience at Al Maktoum College Academic Training Program. Students got an opportunity to better understand multiculturalism and leadership and the importance of globalization. The experience gained is unforgettable, and we look forward to future collaboration with Al Maktoum College Training Program," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students.
