SLP students participate in project management congress in Sharjah
The American University of Sharjah Student Leadership Program (SLP) recently took part in the Alleem Project Management Congress held in Sharjah. The congress focused on leadership management skills, with over 16 speakers for various industries and disciplines, and stressed the importance of effective leadership management and presented real life solutions to the audience.
Innovation was the highlight of the congress; students learned how to incorporate innovation in their business model and had the opportunity to seek answers, network with professionals and understand the importance of effective leadership in the current economic situation and its impact on change.
"Participating in the business congress was a great opportunity for us as students to learn about current business opportunities," said Marwah Al Jarkas, a public relations major. "It taught us to enhance our skills of leadership to strengthen our position in the work force. The congress consists of several sessions by specialists from various important companies and institutions, who discussed the importance of leadership and project management and the relation between them. Over all, it was a great event that enriched our information of business and gave us the chance to meet great leaders."
The AUS Office of Student Affairs' Student Leadership Program continues to encourage students to participate in project management programs and events in order to strengthen their leadership capabilities. With project management, students learn the importance of following direction and mapping their life for a successful future. "We thank Alleem Corporation for their ongoing collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs and we look forward to future opportunities for students," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
