South Korean “Charmdance” group entertains AUS community
The South Korean "Charmdance" group entertained the enthusiastic community of American University of Sharjah (AUS) by performing in the AUS main auditorium earlier this week.
The AUS community members were particularly amazed when the group, which specializes in traditional Korean dancing, began with a specially choreographed segment for the book fair, on the occasion of Sharjah International Book fair.
The show, organized by the AUS Cultural Events Committee, also included a program of traditional Korean dances including the traveler: a mime show, Dance with fans, fusion dance: expressionist dance and other Korean folk dances.
The "Charmdance" group consists of five dancers, Shin Myungsook, president of the group, Yuk Meeyoung, Lee Jung Hoon, Jin Se Lim, and Jung Da Hye. As well as being the President of the "Charmdance" group, Dr. Shin Myunsook is currently a Professor in the Dance Department at the University of Daejin, South Korea. Myunsook graduated from Hansung University in Korea. She also serves in various national and international professional associations. Dr. Shin has participated in various performances such as 'A Spider', A Rope', 'A Zoo Story', 'A Contrabass', and she has performed in Japan, China, and Europe.
