TEDxAUS teaches students to “Think Glocal”
"Think Glocal" was the theme of TEDxAUS hosted by American University of Sharjah (AUS) on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Organized by the Office of Student Affairs' Student Leadership Program, in collaboration with Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa), the event encouraged the audience to think globally but act locally.
The welcoming remarks at TEDxAUS were given by Najla Al Midfa, General Manager, Sheraa, while other speakers at the event included Her Excellency Sara Al Madani, Director, Fashion Designer and Founder, Sara Al Madani Fashion Design; Aida Al Busaidy, Senior Events and Festivals Communications Manager, Dubai Tourism; Sara Falaknaz, Vice President for Innovation, DP World; Dr. Jameela Haq, Dentist and Founder, Pakistan Youth Forum; and Hassan Dennaoui, Radio Host, to name a few.
The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences.
