CAAD students recognized on the Dean’s List for academic excellence
The College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD) at American University of Sharjah has recognized 245 undergraduate students on the Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement during the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters.
The Dean’s List honors students who demonstrate exceptional commitment to their studies while meeting the rigorous academic standards of CAAD’s degree programs in architecture, interior design, design management, graphic design, and film and new media.
“Being named to the Dean’s List reflects not only academic excellence, but also curiosity, discipline and a strong sense of responsibility toward one’s work and community,” said Dean Joe Colistra, Dean of CAAD. “Our students continue to impress us with their ability to think critically, design thoughtfully and engage meaningfully with the social, cultural and environmental contexts around them.”
This year, the event featured Khawla Sayed M. Al Hashimi, Director of Project Development at Shurooq and CAAD alumna, who gave an inspiring speech encouraging CAAD students to remain resilient in the pursuit of their dreams.
The interdisciplinary learning environment of CAAD challenges students to integrate theory and practice, encouraging experimentation, collaboration and innovation across design disciplines. Recognition on the Dean’s List underscores students’ ability to thrive in a demanding academic setting while contributing positively to studio culture and collaborative learning.
CAAD’s degree programs are highly regarded, with AUS ranked among the top 260 universities globally for the categories of architecture and the built environment and art and design (QS World University Rankings 2025). For more information on CAAD’s degree programs, visit www.aus.edu/caad.
