Students take part in multiculturalism and leadership training program

Seven students from the American University of Sharjah's (AUS) Office of Student Affairs' Student Leadership Program (SLP) were selected to attend the Academic Training Program in Multiculturalism and Leadership organized by Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Dundee, Scotland. 

The four-week program is a combination of class lectures, tutorials and debates on subjects such as Multiculturalism and Muslim Society, Leadership and Management, and Civilization Dialogue. The program will be held at the Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Scotland February 11- March 8. A total of 48 students from universities across the UAE and Qatar were selected this year to participate in the program.

As well as taking part in the program, the students are also able to visit historical places to enrich their cultural awareness and provide a better setting for them to understand and develop their ability to adjust in a multicultural environment. 

"The Student Leadership Program focuses on developing students' leadership capacity through participation in local, regional and international programs. We are happy to work with Al Maktoum College of Higher Education on this program and look forward to future collaboration that supports the development of our youth.  Our students have conveyed their satisfaction with the program, and we look forward to their return in March," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
