Computer science student wins UAE National Cyber Security Capture the Flag competition
A computer science student from American University of Sharjah (AUS) recently won first place at the UAE National Cyber Security Capture the Flag competition. Mina Mahfouz Ghaly placed first, followed by a student from Khalifa University in second.
Supported by Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) and the Government of Dubai, the competition allowed participants to demonstrate their technical abilities. A list of challenges in the different categories of the competition included reverse engineering, web security, digital forensics, network security and more.
The competition saw more than 100 competing participants in the first round who were then shortlisted to seven teams in the final round.
