SBA honors outstanding faculty members

The School of Business Administration (SBA) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) recently honored two of its outstanding faculty members.

Dr. Rania Semaan, Assistant Professor of Marketing, was declared recipient of the Teacher of the Year 2018 award. The award process started with student nominations. Subsequently, each nominee was asked to provide teaching portfolios and statements about their teaching approach/philosophy. A committee of their peers (Faculty Personnel Committee) ultimately selected the winner.

As a reward, Dr. Semaan will attend a prestigious one-week Global Colloquium on student-centered learning at Harvard Business School in July.

Dr. Hamid Baghestani, Professor of Economics, won the Research of the Year 2018 award. Dr. Baghestani was given the award on the basis of the higher research productivity over the most recent two-year period.
