AUS Alumni Association launches its Jordan Chapter
The AUS Alumni Association (AUSAA) hosted a virtual event to launch its Jordan Chapter on October 14, 2020. The new chapter will strengthen the existing connections between AUS and its alumni family and friends in Jordan.
Speaking to alumni at the launch, AUS Chancellor Kevin Mitchell said, “AUS is proud of your professional accomplishments and contributions to your communities. Alumni are important members of the university community and your support is essential for advancing the mission of the institution. We look forward to working together with you to enhance the involvement of the alumni community in Jordan.”
Rania Morsi, Director of Development and Donor Relations at the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs and an AUS alumna, welcomed the alumni to the event and congratulated AUSAA for adding the Jordan Chapter to its regional chapter map, noting that the association now has 14 regional chapters spread around the globe.
AUSAA President Mohamed Al Sharhan emphasized the important role that alumni play for a university. “Any university’s alumni are key to its growth. By staying connected to our alma mater, we foster the relationships we made during our time at AUS and create even more connections. Each year our alumni network grows stronger and more diverse. Staying connected is important to support each other, be it in professional careers or business opportunities and to bring back value to AUS and enhance its reputation and global competitiveness,” said Al Sharhan.
Ahmed Towaiq, AUSAA Jordan Chapter Representative, welcomed the participants to the virtual launch of the chapter. “Through the AUSAA Jordan Chapter, we hope that we will create opportunities for our alumni to connect with each other to help them establish and maintain close ties with each other and with AUS.” He also spoke about the initiatives the chapter plans to undertake to strengthen the alumni network in Jordan and support AUS activities.
AUS graduates can be found in leading positions in the private and public sectors across the UAE and around the world, with more than 100 nationalities represented among the AUS alumni body.
