Active Learning Spaces

Faculty have access to four Active Learning Spaces in the LAN building. They are equipped with mobile changing stations, portable whiteboards, LCD screens, and rolling node chairs and rolling tables to increase comfort and to facilitate mobility and interaction among students and teachers. A number of Department of English classes are held in the Active Learning Spaces, helping faculty to move their course design beyond the lecture. The room design, flexible furniture, writing surfaces and technology all combine to support students and faculty in collaborative/interactive learning activities and more participatory use of media. Faculty also use them to facilitate flipped learning in combination with computer/writing labs.

AUS Writing Center

The AUS Writing Center is dedicated to helping students become better writers. Our peer-tutors help students become independent, confident writers through an interactive approach to writing. Click here to find out more.

Writing Fellows Program
