Achievement Academy Bridge Program celebrates strong matriculation results
The Achievement Academy Bridge Program (AABP) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) has achieved a 97 percent matriculation rate for students completing the program in Fall 2025. The cohort has now progressed into undergraduate studies at AUS for Spring Semester 2026, marking a significant milestone for the students.
The Bridge Program is designed for conditionally admitted students who require additional academic English preparation before entering their majors at AUS. The majority of students typically complete the program in one semester, taking a combination of English language courses and a general education course offered through the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS).
A key update to the program this year was the implementation of a new policy allowing students who successfully complete the required upper-level AABP courses to matriculate without the need to retake the English language proficiency exams IELTS or TOEFL.
Strong performance at this year’s AABP Showcase

This semester, the Achievement Academy team once again held the AABP Showcase, a bi-annual event in which AABP students select their most impactful piece of work from the semester and present the learning process to their peers, instructors and invited guests. The event highlighted the strong cohort’s development in academic communication and presentation skills, both core competencies for students wishing to pursue higher-level education at AUS.
Matriculating student Saghar Khalil Arjmandi reflected on her experience: “I am truly happy and grateful for everything I have achieved. I want to thank the kind and supportive AABP instructors who were always by my side and helped me throughout this journey.”

First-year computer engineering student Omar Aldamkhi added that the Bridge Program “was one of the most fun, interesting and useful experiences I’ve ever had. It introduced me to university life. It made me realize that if I had joined my major without studying in the Bridge Program first, I would’ve had a really hard time.”
About the Bridge Program
Within the UAE, the AUS Achievement Academy Bridge Program (AABP) stands out for its small class sizes and a low faculty-to-student ratio. In addition, Bridge Program students benefit from well-designed curricula developed by specialists in English language teaching, ensuring rigorous academic preparation for university-level coursework.
Beyond the classroom, AABP students can participate in campus life from their first semester, taking on leadership roles and joining student clubs and university sports teams. Several students also opt to live in AUS’ residential halls, where living-learning communities combine shared housing with academic and social activities that support their transition to university.
Over the past 25 years, the program has continued to impact the language development of students from over 30 countries, equipping them with the skills to succeed in their university journey.
